Bill Gates, famous for being the co-founder of Microsoft, is getting even more attention for the charitable work he does with his wife, Melinda Gates. This summer at the Code Conference, Bill and Melinda spoke with The Verge‘s Walt Mossberg about the sixth anniversary of the Gates Foundation’s Giving Pledge. The Gates family is applying their business entrepreneurship to philanthropy. The Giving Pledge commits billionaires to give most of their wealth to charitable causes. The Gates Foundation has a Global Health Division, which supports vaccination all over the world. One of Melinda Gates’s current projects is improving women’s access to contraception. Part of Bill Gates’s talk is focused on advances in Artificial Intelligence.
