Vital Battery Experiment For Parents to Share

This post is not suitable for sensitive people. Parents and carers should be present to explain it to sensitive children. Today’s vital battery experiment demonstrates the harm a penny battery can cause a child, although we do use a substitute material. While it may horrify some visitors at first, we assure you the injuries penny batteries cause to kids can be far worse.

How to Conduct the Vital Battery Experiment

We ask parents to be the scientists in this vital battery experiment. We believe kids should be observers, so they understand, once and for all, that button batteries are not toys. You will need just two simple things to conduct this experiment, to demonstrate the side effects of ingesting a penny battery.

First, you need a fresh button battery, not too small, at least the size of a dime. You could actually use a tiny hearing aid one, but we believe a larger, more dramatic effect will implant more firmly in a child’s mind.

Secondly, you need a small slice of raw pork. If pork is off-limits, please use something else for this vital battery experiment. Although pork is most similar to human flesh in terms of texture. Place the button battery positive side down on the meat and leave it undisturbed for a few hours. You will be surprised, even shocked by the damage caused.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine explains how kids suffer injury when the battery’s direct electrical current interacts with the mucosa, or mucous membranes. It notes a number of fatalities and recommends prevention as the most effective management strategy.

Lessons from this Vital Button Battery Experiment

The Library of Medicine has said, “Manufacturers, physicians and parents share responsibility for preventing such accidents.” We made this post as a small contribution by a supplier of deep cycle, lead-acid batteries. Please share it with your friends. Every bit helps.
