Happy Earth Day everyone!!!
After a cold week of snow and storms, we are finally getting a glimpse of spring here in Toronto! The weather is beautiful and the sun is blazing. While we are thankful for the warm weather today, we remain concerned about the climate change. The sudden changes in temperature that have occurred this month have more to do with the imbalances we have caused the earth rather than mother earth’s generosity towards us.
We hope you enjoyed the weather wherever you are but we also hope that you did something for mother earth today. Whether it be recycling, ditching meat for the day or simply reading an article about reducing our impacts on earth — we hope you feel inspire to be more environmentally-friendly come tomorrow.
If not, then we are glad to bring you some tips and to present with you some ways that can reduce your negative impact our beautiful earth. On that note, here are 3 resolutions we think are worth setting for Earth:

Resolution #1: Avoid the Plastic
Yes, you hear this all the time but you also dismiss it all the time. I’ll be the first one to admit that so this is not to single you out but I believe, it is time we make some changes! So where do we start? Our 3 Ways of Avoiding Plastic post helps identify three plastic culprits: straws, bottles, bags and cutlery. We still stand by those and highly recommend exchanging them for bamboo/metal/or glass ones! Add to that list: plastic toothbrushes and coffee cups! If you can replace one of the mentioned items with a bio-degradable/recyclable one then you’re one step closer to a better earth!
Resolution #2: Shop Consciously
This resolution goes hand in hand with reducing your plastic use. We live a world now where anything and everything we want is a click away. While that has revolutionized our lives, it also causes damages to the environment. When we’re buying products online, we don’t pay much attention to where it is coming from, who put it together, who suffered to make it cost less for us and the negative environmental impact it might have. Well, it is time we do and it is time we vote with our money for the eco-friendly products! Brush with Bamboo is an example of toothbrush company that produces bio-degradable toothbrushes.
Resolution #3: Eat Less Meat:
The words vegetarian and vegan can be very triggering I know, but bare with me! This is a big topic and worth more than a simple paragraph in one post but I hope it sparks interest in you to continue learning about it! Giving up meat for even one day a week makes a huge difference and lessens your water and land use compared to someone who eats meat everyday. Meatless Mondays is a great initiate to get you started! The meat and dairy industries create more greenhouse gas emissions than transportation per year! Also, animal agriculture is the #1 cause of deforestation, ocean deadzones and greenhouse gas emissions. So try to reduce the consumption of meat and dairy is definitely a step you can take to be more eco-friendly!
