Size definitely matters in our world of batteries. However, doubling an electric car battery size does not double driving range. The relationship is less than one-on-one. There is a critical point where the product becomes environmentally unsustainable. Why is that? Why is there a limit to battery longevity?
Electric Cars and Battery Longevity Issues

Charging an electric car at an ultra-fast rate consumes as much electricity as a household for that time. The In-Compliance Journal believes doing a large number on a grid simultaneously could ‘dim the lights of a city’. However, we still need an alternative to fossil-power motor cars.
Electric cars are batteries on wheels with seats attached in terms of cost. Replacing electric car batteries is surprisingly expensive. Hence good battery longevity is essential to cost-justify the product. The In-Compliance Journal says EV batteries are deliberately oversize, and only use half their available energy when new.
During this initial period, they operate within a 30% to 80% charge. As they start to fade, they begin using more and more of their total capacity. The driver is unaware of this, because artificial intelligence keeps the driving range constant throughout the battery life. Eventually they run out of steam.
How Is this Different from Cell Phone Longevity?

We do not have the luxury of large batteries in phones. Hence, their battery longevity profiles are similar to aging electric car batteries, but right from the beginning. The first moment we charge them signals the beginning of the end of their short life.
Sure, we can treat them nicely so they last a little longer. Nice tactics include charging at the recommended rate using the device supplied with the phone, and not over-stressing them with a full / overcharge. However we cannot escape the truth that phone batteries discharge rapidly.
Ambient temperature is a critical factor too. You will encourage battery longevity if you keep your phone in the temperature range you enjoy yourself. If you feel it getting hot, give it some cool, refreshing fresh air like you give yourself after a run.
