Could Apple’s iPhone recover from the disastrous throttling software it slipped into its operating system without telling anybody? We are still inclined to believe Apple did this with good intentions. In fact, if it had been open about this upfront, we might have applauded the idea. But it was not open about it, and this problem will not go away easily.
We Wonder, Could Apple’s iPhone’s New Features Help

Apple appears to be trying to add the features that should have been there in the first place. Thus, it is thereby avoiding removing the throttling software completely.
Perhaps its lawyers warned this could be an admission that it was a mistake. What do you think? Could Apple’s iPhone recover the situation by simply making the app more transparent?
On January 24th, 2017 Reuters Business News reported, “Apple Inc. announced changes on Wednesday that make good on its promise to allow users to turn off a controversial feature that slows down iPhones when batteries are running low, although it signaled it might take months more to deliver.”

This was after Apple confirmed in December it was slowing down performance as iPhone batteries began to age. We understand the beta version of iOS 11.3 will include new features reporting battery health, and advising when it needs attention. Finally, users will have the option of turning the entire app off.
Some famous brands caused themselves serious damage by over-reaching in the past. We think of companies like Ford that launched the horrible Edsel car it named after its new CEO. And Coke that decided its hugely popular soft drink didn’t taste right anymore. We’ll remain silent on Windows 8 because the pain is still real for some.
Those three companies recovered by dropping their faulty lines. Could Apple iPhone recover by just making a few tweaks instead? On the other hand, perhaps it should start all over again with something completely different?
