Do you remember the lyrics ‘treat me good and allow me some kindness’? Well, we are in a relationship with our laptops and phones that help us stay in touch with each other. This relationship may or may not extend to a few choice words when they don’t perform properly. But we do need to remember the following laptop and phone battery care tips, if we want to stay in touch with our humans, twenty-four seven.

Laptop and Phone Battery Care Tips to Remember

  1. We’d probably never insist that our best friend goes walking with us in a heatwave, or on a freezing cold night. Lithium-ion batteries are extreme high and extreme low- temperature-sensitive too, and the stress shortens their working lives.
  2. Strange how many of us run the gasoline tanks in our autos down to almost empty, although there is no saving. The batteries in our lithium-ion devices don’t like running on low either, because it shortens their lifespan.
  3. Leaving lithium-ion batteries on charge for long periods after they are full,  irritates them as much as nagging a friend. This can permanently reduce the energy they store, as if they were losing patience with us.
  4. Never leave your fully discharged laptop or phone the way it is for a long period. You could end up finding it won’t hold a charge when you try. It’s like losing an old friend forever.

And finally, on the subject of laptop and phone battery care, avoid leaving the bluetooth and wi-fi on unnecessarily. These apps are great when you need them, but do remember they drain your battery, even when running in background mode.

About Author

I tripped over a shrinking bank balance and fell into the writing gig unintentionally. This was after I escaped the corporate world and searched in vain for ways to become rich on the internet by doing nothing. Despite the fact that writing is no recipe for wealth, I rather enjoy it. I will not deny I am obsessed with it when I have the time. I live in Margate on the Kwazulu-Natal south coast of South Africa. I work from home where I ponder on the future of the planet, and what lies beyond in the great hereafter. Sometimes I step out of my computer into the silent riverine forests, and empty golden beaches for which the area is renowned. Richard
