Reasons to Think Twice About COVID Jabs

We are, as you may know committed supporters of the COVID vaccination campaign. Therefore, it may seem strange we should be writing about reasons to think twice about COVID jabs. However, there may be genuine concerns to check first with your provider. We are not medical specialists. What follows is therefore not medical advice.

Four Reasons to Think Twice About COVID Jabs

1… Anaphylaxis is a very severe allergic reaction vulnerable people may have to food allergies and bee stings, for example. All vaccine sites should have the highly effective antidote available. Both Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines, and the Johnson one could cause this reaction. However, Yale Health confirms most at risk will be safely able to receive an alternate vaccine.

2… Those reasons to think twice about COVID jabs also apply to anybody with a previous severe reaction to any injection. However, others with histories of severe allergies to foods, or other oral medications should be vaccination candidates. Severe adverse reactions to latex, pets, insects, and environmental triggers also appear not to be a concern.

However, we should always answer questions at a vaccination site carefully, and thoughtfully. Yale Health suggests staying a half hour at the site after vaccination if prone to severe allergic reactions.

3… Pregnant and breast-feeding women are unlikely to be at risk, again according to Yale Health (see link below). However, limited data gives them the right to refuse the vaccine. In this regard it’s worth noting those pregnant are at greater risk of severe COVID illness if they contract the infection.

4… And finally, for the purposes of this short article, people with auto immune conditions should discuss the pros and cons of vaccinations with their personal physicians. Please do follow the Yale Health link below, for a wider view on this essential topic.

I tripped over a shrinking bank balance and fell into the writing gig unintentionally. This was after I escaped the corporate world and searched in vain for ways to become rich on the internet by doing nothing. Despite the fact that writing is no recipe for wealth, I rather enjoy it. I will not deny I am obsessed with it when I have the time. I live in Margate on the Kwazulu-Natal south coast of South Africa. I work from home where I ponder on the future of the planet, and what lies beyond in the great hereafter. Sometimes I step out of my computer into the silent riverine forests, and empty golden beaches for which the area is renowned. Richard
