Here at UPS Battery Center, we believe in awarding good work and we respect the people who put in that good work. That is why on our blog today, we decided to honor two hard working students from the Hayden Robotics team at Dr Frank J. Hayden high school.

The whole team at Hayden Robotics has been working extremely hard to have their robot ready for the First Robotics Steamworks competition. In this post, we would like to give you a little glimpse at some of these amazing workers!

With the help of the marketing team at Hayden Robotics, we are very pleased to present to you Corbin Garlough and Tasnim Reza-two members who represent the spirit and passion of the team! We asked them questions ranging from their reasons of joining to their goals in life. Check out their profiles below to learn about their answers!

Who is Corbin Garlough?

Corbin is a grade 11 student who hopes to study computer system engineering at Carleton University. Since this is his second time working with the team, Corbin acts as a supervisor and head of mechanical and design team. He is also the robot’s driver at the competition along with Santiago, a fellow team member.

Corbin decided to join the Hayden Robotics out of interest and also to share his passion with other students who love this as much as him. In addition, Corbin says that “it also gives me a chance to show the younger students some of what I know since they are the future of our team.” How inspiring!

It is not all about winning for Corbin. He believes that it is more about the learning experience and the teamwork. Also, it is about having fun!

Who is Tasnim Reza?

Tasnim is a grade 11 students who wants to attend the University of Waterloo for chemical engineering. She is a member of the mechanical and design teams with Hayden Robotics.

Her love for building things is what inspired her to join the team. She loves getting to work with like minded people so when Hayden Robotics was formed, she knew she had to join it!

Being such a hard worker takes a lot of time, that is why Tasnim swears by her schedules! She says that having everything organized and scheduled is what really helps her stay focused. Also, she believes that if you really love something, you will make time for it. That is something everyone should live by!

Corbin and Tasmin are two wonderfully talented students who represent exactly how everyone in the team of Hayden Robotics are. It’s a pleasure to have gotten to know them and we wish them the best of luck with the rest of the competition!
