There have been improvements in renewable green energy this decade that challenged the role of fossil fuels forever. Wind, solar, and hydro are now the fastest growing energy resources. As governments pile on pressure, and investors pour in money, could we be the last fossil fuel generation in history.
The Last Fossil Fuel Generation Legacy
If we succeed in our endeavors, we will have broken carbon’s chains forever. And put a stop to nuclear power generation that has potential for massive radiation leaks.
In their place will be the simplest of systems, comprising solar collectors, solar charge controllers, energy storage batteries, and inverters.
These systems will be small enough to fit easily in our homes. Engineers will balance them so we have enough electricity for daily living. There will also be some for the community if we work away from home, or we are farmers out in the fields. The legacy of the last fossil fuel generation will be a return to harmony with nature.
How Will the Next Generation of Batteries Work?
We don’t know for sure. Will the future be the same as the past? If so, then batteries will continue to have cathodes, anodes, and liquid, gel, or solid-state electrolytes.
Therefore, we will also still need inverters to convert solar / battery DC current to alternating electricity in that model.
However, why should the future be the same as the past? Nothing has ever remained the same before. Technology has come and gone so fast it has been a whirlwind for old gen baby boomers. Is it unreasonable for the last fossil fuel generation to expect different ways of harvesting renewable energy in future?
We don’t believe it is unreasonable, but we have another even more important task. We have to find ways to reverse global warming and climate change, to cool down our earth. Or else all our ingenuity, and all our bright ideas, could have been for nothing.
