On June 8-9 of 2018, our team as the UPS Battery Center had the absolute pleasure of attending day 4 and 5 of the Solar Splash 2018 Championship!
The World Championship started on Tuesday, June 5th at the Clark County Fairgrounds Lake in Springfield, Ohio and it continued on for a successful five days!
All 12 participating teams did incredibly well and we enjoyed being there for them. We got the chance to interview the Sherbrooke Hyperion solar boat team, the New Mexico solar boat team, and the Cedarville solar boat team! We will be making future blogs to update you about them!

Although the team at UPS Battery Center has sponsored the Solar Splash Competition in previous years, this was the first time we were the Prime Sponsor! It was also our first time attending the event and we will definitely be making it an annual trip! It was a truly exciting trip getting to meet the teams in person and to learn about their solar boat journeys! Jeff, Tim, and David along with the rest of the executive team were great hosts and we were proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary with them!
Since we were there for the 4th and 5th day, we got to experience the Endurance, and the Sprint test! We were excited to learn that Cedarville won and we congratulate all the other teams for their efforts throughout the competition.
