Iron is an important vitamin that should be taken habitually as it helps our body in several ways such as the creation of RBC, transportation of oxygen, conversion of blood sugar, production of enzymes and so on and so forth. Several foods may be a good source of iron. Some of these are red meat, egg yolk, leafy vegetables, and more.
Did you know that iron may be seen? Here’s an experiment on how to see the iron in your food.
What You Will Need:
- ½ cup of cereal
- Ziploc Bag
- Water
- Magnet
What to Do:
- Pour the ½ cup of cereal inside the Ziploc bag.
- Pour in about ¾ of water inside the Ziploc bag.
- Leave it for about an hour.
- Place the magnet on your hand and place the Ziploc bag with cereal and water on top.
- Swish it in a circular motion for about 20 seconds.
- Flip it so that the magnet will be on top of the bag. Voila! You can now see some iron fillings around the magnet, right?
- Move the magnet in different areas of the bag and you will notice that these iron fillings will follow the magnet.
