There’s measure of excitement when the courier parks the van outside the house. We hold our breath while we wait to learn what’s inside the parcel, even with internet shopping becoming commonplace. However, we should not lose our patience and tear the packaging to read the label. That’s because there are protocols to follow when safely receiving goods by courier.
Our Interests First When Safely Receiving Goods by Courier
We wash our hands, and put on a clean face covering while the courier delivers the parcel to the front door. If they ask us to sign papers, then we do so at arm’s length before thanking them and saying farewell. We keep our face covering on during the unpacking process. This considerably reduces our chances of surface-to-face transmission.
We take the parcel to a convenient place, and set it down on an old newspaper we placed there in anticipation. Then we thoroughly sanitize the outside of the package. That’s because we can’t be too careful when safely receiving goods by courier. Now we can remove the outer wrapping, scrunch it in a paper bag, and see what has arrived.
Well Almost Ready. But First We Must Sanitize the Box
We have to really, because the person who wrapped the parcel would have also touched the box. But there’s still one more thing to do before we open up. That’s wash our hands in soap and water thoroughly for twenty seconds one more time.
Our preparations are finally over! We have safely received our goods by courier despite the lock down, and now we can finally hold them in our hands. We marvel at modern technology as we realize the sanitizing took less than a minute and it was easy to do.
After we have disposed the outside wrapping, we can sanitize our hands just one more time, and start exploring the goods we ordered only a few days earlier. Although we do miss visiting stores and wish this thing was soon over.
