We are attached to retail outlets, banks, and filling stations by established habits. However, these are all high volume frequently visited places where the infection risk is high. We are all in the same dilemma when it comes to dealing with this. We thought you’d find a summary of Centers for Disease Control (CDC) advice for consumers during COVID-19 useful. You’ll find a link to the full guideline at the end of this post.
CDC’s Advice to Consumers During COVID-19
Avoid visiting high traffic areas if you can. In fact, don’t go at all if you are displaying any COVID-19 symptoms. Even if you are healthy, only visit stores selling household essentials when you have to. CDC’s advice for consumers during COVID-19 is order food and other items online for home delivery, or curbside pickup.
Take sensible precautions when you must go shopping. Clean the cart handle with a wipe, keep your distance, use a cloth face covering, and disinfect your hands regularly. Try to shop early or late when the store is quiet. Avoid touching your face or face covering. Use touch-less payment methods wherever you can.
Essential Precautions at Banks and Gas Stations
Do as many bank transactions as possible on the internet or by the phone. If you need cash, try to use a drive-thru service that is fully automated without face-to-face contact. Sanitize the surfaces before and after you touch them.
CDC’s advice for consumers during COVID-19 includes disinfecting surfaces, wearing a face covering and keeping your distance if other people are present. Wash your hands thoroughly after you arrive home.
Follow the same approach when purchasing fuel at gas stations. Sanitize the handles and keypads before use. Sanitize your hands afterwards. Wash them thoroughly again, as soon as you are in a familiar place where you feel COVID-19 safer.
