- The recall notice only refers to certain VIVI electric bicycle batteries, which it lists.
- The name VIVI is visible on bicycle downtubes. The battery model appears on each battery.
- The electric bicycle model is on the customer sales order document, and on some frames too.
Consumers owning one of the 24,000 affected units, should not take the VIVI e-bike recall notice lightly. The electric bicycle company confirms “14 reports of incidents of batteries overheating, including three reports of fires”.

What Must I Do If This Recall Affects Me?
A notice on the VIVI website confirms the following advice, which we recommend affected users follow. As we understand it, this advisory only applies to affected VIVI customers in the United States:
- Immediately stop using an electric bicycle with one of the recalled batteries.
- Contact VIVI “to receive a free replacement battery and battery charger”.
- Do not dispose of the battery immediately. VIVI may request more information.
