Anthony Fauci believes the COVID-19 infection rate is in our hands. But how can we be sure this is true?
Is There Proof the COVID-19 Infection Rate Is In Our Hands?
Imperial College in London,and Ipsos MORI market researchers are conducting a study to determine the prevalence of COVID-19 in UK. They take finger-prick samples for population categories. These groups include age, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic factors, employment type, contact with known cases, symptoms and other aspects. The government uses this information to guide pandemic policy.
The latest update of this Real-Time Assessment of Community Transmission (REACT) study reveals infections were 30% lower during lockdown. And the R rate is just below 1 again. In the UK, November 2020 lockdown meant:
1… Stay at home and in your accommodation, except for specific purposes
2… Avoid meeting people you do not live with, except for specific purposes.
3… Close communal activities including pubs, restaurants and sports facilities
These restrictions were hard for the British people to bear. They did, however deliver definitive proof the COVID-19 infection rate is in our hands.
Anthony Fauci Warns of Post-Thanksgiving Surges
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head warns America could experience ‘surge upon surge’ in the post-Thanksgiving period. However it is not too late, he says, to help curb the virus by wearing masks and socially distancing.
National Transport Security Administration says over 800,000 travelers passed through U.S. airport checkpoints daily in the final week of November 2020. Fauci recommends Thanksgiving travelers quarantine for a period of time ‘if it’s possible’. The COVID-19 infection rate could be in their own hands, but who will catch the ball?
