In our latest post, we discussed what a green roof is and today we’d like to discuss companies that work with green roofs. In particular, we’d like to discuss a certain organization by the name of GreenRoofs Canada.
What Is Green Roofs Canada?
- Established in 1999, Green Roofs Canada has since worked hard to ensure the growing of green roofs and walls throughout North America. The term “green roof” refers to a layer on a per-existing roof of a building which includes high quality water-proofing, root repellent system, drainage system, and of course, plants. Green roofs are Eco-friendly, aesthetically pleasing and also relaxing to the tenants!
What Is Their Mission?
Green Roofs for Healthy Cities’ mission is to develop the market by increasing the awareness of the economic, social, and environmental benefits of green roofs, green walls through education and professional training. Some of the things they focus on are:
- Establishing cost-effective policies that help raise public awareness;
- Developing professional training courses that help recruit people to install green roofs and green wall technologies;
- As well as, ensuring the international exchange of information on policies, products, and research is established.
