Optimizing Batteries for Solar Power Supply

Solar power batteries are really taking off in Australia, although North America has been slower to respond. Perhaps we are more inclined to trust our electricity utilities to supply us faithfully. Maybe we are overlooking the point that home solar power can become a money spinner when we get it right. Optimizing batteries is part of that solution as we share in this post.

Optimizing Solar Batteries So They Pay for Themselves

Perhaps you are considering installing a limited solar battery system, so you have lights and television for a couple of hours during a grid interruption. In this case, a simple set-up with a decent battery might suffice to meet your needs. However, your savings on your utility bill would be minimal, meaning your solar ends up costing you money.

But there is another option you know, although this does involve optimizing batteries for a decent-size solar array on your roof. It makes a deal of sense, when you think about it, to sell that captured solar power to the utility when you are away at work. Your utility will credit you for the income. Some folk even manage to have a net income from their electricity bill!

Taking Home Solar to New Levels of Power

But optimized batteries containing sufficient power could also enable you to live quite comfortably during longer grid outages. Although, you might still have to defer using the electric oven, hair dryer, and other energy-hungry devices.

Home solar is just beginning to take off in North America, although the potential is huge. Just imagine what it would be like, if every house or apartment building in America had an array of solar panels capturing energy.

If they fed the power back to the grid during daytime, they could flatten peak demand, and make a real contribution to cooling climate again. Optimizing batteries in tandem would smooth their energy delivery.  We ought not to say if, we should say when, and then answer let’s start doing this now!
