This is not another post fretting over electric vehicle driving range anxiety. This one is far closer to the bone. We all have periods of out of phone juice anxiety, when we worry will we run out of battery time before we can recharge. This is a serious matter given how we, and our phones and their batteries are ‘joined at the hip’. Read on and find out, how you shape up against the American public.

The Plain Truth About Out of Phone Juice Anxiety

A fellow named Steve Fink established the Study Finds poll, to publish survey data that interests the average reader.  Their latest offering reveals some startling findings, as to how dependent Americans have become on their smart phones.

Six out every ten people surveyed admitted, they could not cope without their phones for more than a day. We don’t suppose Canadians will be all that different, so this probably applies to us too.

Most people included in the survey relied on their smartphone for assistance. More than a quarter of adults use their phones for directions. An unsurprising one-in-three, have never read a printed paper map.

It’s no wonder we all suffer from out of phone juice anxiety from time to time. It’s a simple matter of forgetting to charge our smartphone overnight, or not taking the charger with us on a weekend break.

Is it time to Loosen Our Smartphone Apron Strings?

Perhaps things have gone too far, what with two-thirds of respondents agreeing they use their phones for photos, and checking the time. This did not surprise us, although were amazed that 13% of respondents could not find their way to work, without a map on their smartphone.

The best way to avoid out of phone juice anxiety, is to have a durable battery you can trust, and use it wisely so it lasts the day. We could also try to live without our smart phones, although that, we suspect, might be a bridge too far.
