It is interesting noting how the tide is turning against folk who decide not to have free COVID-19 vaccine shots. Because it’s almost as those who already took the gap are saying ‘that’s okay but not in my backyard’. Take the community in the City of Los Angeles, for example. Their mayor Eric Garcetti is promoting strict COVID access rules, so Los Angeles can regulate entry to many indoor spaces.
Because He Does Not Want to Bury Another Front-Line Worker
‘I don’t want to bury another city employee, police officer, or firefighter,’ Garcetti told USA Today October 6, 2021. The L.A. City Council was firmly behind him when they approved one of America’s strictest vaccine ordinances. Representatives voted 11-2 in favor of controlling admission to many indoor businesses and facilities, beginning November 4, 2021.
USA Today expects those venues will include luxury stores on Rodeo Drive, Beverley Hills. The city already has an anti smoking ordinance for the health and safety of its citizens. It seems logical to introduce strict COVID access rules to reduce the possibility of their catching the coronavirus.
More About Los Angeles’ Strict COVID Access Rules
The city ordinance will apply to all people aged 12 and over within the area of jurisdiction. They will need full vaccination to enter many indoor public venues. And these include shopping centers, movie theaters, restaurants, bars, sports arenas, museums, city facilities and other locales at the time of writing.
The only exception will be those people have not vaccinated, but have religious or medical exemptions. However, they will still require a negative coronavirus test within 72 hours to gain entry. Los Angeles has experienced huge rises of COVID-19 infections in the past. City Council members who supported the measure say it aims to reduce the risk of fresh surges.
