To keep up with the theme of Green-promoting organizations, we’re back to talk about IGEM: an organization that is set in South-East Asia. IGEM is the acronym for The International GreenTech & Eco Products Conference Malaysia.
What Is IGEM?
Launched in 2010, IGEM is the region’s largest trade event for green technologies and Eco products. It is the perfect venue where many businesses come to showcase their products, ideas and investments. In the past, there has been more than 2000 exhibitors and 380,000 visitors from 25 different countries!
IGEM 2017

The 2017 conference took place just a week ago on the 11th through the 13th of October. Its theme was “empowering green cities.” It was organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water. The 2017 conference focused on finding alternative energy options for cities and for transportation vehicles (Electric Vehicles). It boosted over 250 booths from 20 countries, around 25,000 visitors and the expected revenue is supposed to be RM1.6 billion!

Malaysia’s Green Efforts
The IGEM conference is a great step for Malaysia in promoting its mission to green-ify cities. With its ever growing population that is leaning more towards urban cities, the decision seemed natural and necessary! With the IGEM conference, the country hopes more deals will rule out to ensure they are prepping the country for future generations.
