Climate change is in the realm of politics, because large corporations may be behind it unintentionally. After all, it is natural to want to defend what we believe is true. We approached NASA with the question whether climate change is real. They provided compelling evidence we want to share with you today.

How NASA Says We Know Climate Change is Real

NASA concedes atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have cycled throughout history. However, these global warming and cooling periods remained between recurring limits following slight variations in Earth’s orbit.

The last great ice age coincided with the birth of human civilization. Since 1950, carbon dioxide levels went ballistic. NASA concludes this is “extremely likely … to be the result of human activity since the mid-20th century, and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented over decades to millennia.” Hence, climate change is real and apparently we are causing it.

More NASA Proof That Climate Change is Real

Our fragile planet’s surface temperature rose 2.0º fahrenheit since the late 19th century. During this period, industrial emissions and carbon dioxide levels followed similar trends. Our oceans absorbed most of this heat, warming 0.3º fahrenheit in the process.

This caused the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets to begin to melt, and glaciers to retreat in the Alps, Andes, Alaska, Himalayas, Africa, and the Rockies. This is proof positive that climate change is real, and occurring before our eyes. Moreover, snow melt is happening earlier, and the oceans rose 8” in the past century.

NASA piled on more evidence, including a record number of high temperature events in the U.S. since 1950, and more intense rainfall. While we experienced these ourselves, we may be unaware that surface ocean acidity rose 30% since the beginning of the first industrial revolution.

Climate change is real. We have the evidence we need. The future is within our grasp. Which way ought we to go, do you think? Please comment, we do value your opinion.

About Author

Electricity has always intrigued me. I have been writing about batteries and energy storage for more than ten years, and have published over 4,000 articles on this website. During that time, I have researched developments across lead-acid, lithium-ion, sodium-ion, flow batteries, and emerging energy-storage technologies. My goal is to explain complex battery concepts in clear, practical language that anyone can understand. My writing career began unexpectedly after leaving the corporate world. What started as a search for a new direction gradually became a fascination with batteries, renewable energy, and the science that powers modern life. Writing may not have made me wealthy, but it has given me the opportunity to explore an industry that continues to evolve in remarkable ways.
