For those of us looking to make a difference in the world, it can be as simple as filling out an online form. The Earth Saviours is a non-governmental organization that quite literally depends on the help of good stewards.
At the Earth Saviours, a foundation developed by Ravi Kalra, a humanitarian who decided to provide food, shelter and care for those in dire need, volunteerism is crucial. Kalra’s selfless devotion is exemplified in the care that volunteers give to people in precarious mental and physical conditions at the centre.
At the old age home, the majority of seniors are bed-ridden, requiring care from around-the-clock nurses. But the centre cannot afford to employ nurses, which is why donations are its lifeline.
To employ a nurse, the costs are around $145 US dollars a month. A nurse’s salary would be around $224 US dollars per month.
Nurse’ Responsibilities:
- Changing the bedding.
- Helping old people bathe.
- Giving medicine on time.
- Taking them for daily walks and exercise.
- Making them cheerful and happy.
- Changing their clothes and nappies in routine.
- Cleaning/Clearing and dressing their wounds.
