We are all potentially links in the corona virus chain. A handshake or a hug could transfer the virus from our hands to our noses and mouths if we touch them. A sudden cough or sneeze from us could infect another person. Today we ask what’s best to do if we have concerns away from help, or don’t want it. The New Zealand Ministry of Health suggests the following should be our corona virus self isolation strategy.

We may have had exposure to the 2019-nCoV corona virus if we visited mainland China since February 2, 2020. However, the symptoms may take 14 days to develop. We must be responsible, what should we do to prevent the spreading of the virus we may have taken on board?

Our corona virus self isolation strategy includes taking simple, common-sense steps to avoid transferring the virus by coughing or sneezing. This means wearing a face mask, and avoiding close contact with people as we would if we had the ‘flu. However, this advice only applies if we visited China, especially Hubei province, and not the people we may be living with.

What Our Isolation Could Mean in Practice

We should be proactive and avoid situations where we are in close contact with other people. We therefore need to be ideally six feet away from them where we can. This means staying away from places where people gather. This includes attending places of worship, going to work, and visiting sports meetings and restaurants.

This is a hard call but there is more to come.We should avoid close contact with the people we live with, including our partners. Besides not sharing dishes, glasses and cups we must wear a face mask that covers our nose and mouth at all times. You clicked on this link for an honest answer.
