It’s important to understand the corona virus from as wide a perspective as possible. That way, we are better prepared to cope with it, if a loved one or we show signs of infection. We confirm the condition apparently only becomes serious in a small percentage of cases. We summarize interim corona virus help for healthcare professionals, as provided by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Limited Corona Virus Help Available for 2019-nCoV Virus
The CDC has developed the outline we reproduce here, based on what they know about associated viruses MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV. We will publish further information as it becomes known. Always consult a health care professional before acting on this information.
The interim CDC corona virus help says the carer should obtain a detailed travel history from the patient while memory is fresh. They should then evaluate patients who display the following symptoms as potential carriers of corona virus.
Warning Signs of Corona Virus and Reporting Procedure
Fever or signs of lower respiratory illness (cough or shortness of breath) are warning signs IF associated with one or more of the following:
1… A confirmed contact with a 2019-nCoV virus patient within 14 days of onset of symptoms
2… A history of travel to Hubei Province, China within 14 days of onset of symptoms
3… A history of travel from mainland China within 14 days of onset of those symptoms
Healthcare professionals who appear to have a confirmed case must immediately notify both infection control personnel at their healthcare facility, and their local or state health department. The state health department will contact Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who will know what to do next.
That’s the extent of the interim corona virus help available for healthcare professionals from CDC at the time of writing. We append the full flow chart for easy reference.
