This is one post we would rather not have to write. However, on reflection we decided it’s best to know what to do if we show Covid-19 symptoms in the future. This article will take you through the experiences of people who caught the virus and lived through it. So could you, if you follow sound medical advice.
They Should Be Mild If We Show Covid-19 Symptoms
Most of us will go through more of an inconvenience than an illness. In fact, others may have no symptoms at all. However, the most likely Covid scenario could include fever, a cough, a sore throat, shortness of breath, and feeling fatigued. We should not, however see our physician.
Instead we should phone our regular medical provider, or send them an email describing our symptoms. They will prescribe any medicines we need, and we can have these couriered to us. We should not take any other medications though. Follow the doctor’s advice and stay at home is the rule.
What Happens If Our Covid-19 Symptoms Are More Severe?
Our doctor or a public health official will stay in touch if we show Covid-19 symptoms and report them. We must immediately tell them if we start feeling worse, and they may decide to move us to a hospital. However, we should call an ambulance right away if we have difficulty breathing or feel short of breath.
If we do go to hospital, we may find the intensive care unit daunting. Unfamiliar machines will surround us and our dedicated nurse may connect some of these. We will not have visitors for obvious reasons. Our job will be to rest up and get well again.
