UPDATE: ClimateLaunchPad Winners 2017!

The largest green business idea competition in the world took place this past week and today we have the winners for you!This competition is ClimateLaunchpad  and it helps create opportunities for presenting and launching green ideas that can turn into businesses. This is a great chance for any inventors and innovators willing to make a change as many of world-renounced investors and companies attend this event!

ClimateLaunchPad 2017 attracted 1000 clean tech start-ups from 35 countries globally! However,  just 105 teams made it in. Then, only 15 made it to the finals… In the end, 3 were the finalists! Top 3 Finalists

First Place: Bio-Alkanol Gel

So, the Bio-Alkanol gel is the product made by the Kenyan startup that made it to #1 on their country’s first time competing! Essentially, the product is is a thick liquid fuel which is a mixture of alkanol, cellulose and water. Its focus is on providing an alternative type of bio fuel! It can be made through the microbial fermentation of sugars in sugars in mango,banana,watermelon,orange and papaya fruit peelings  egg shells. This process is definitely a new and an innovative way of recycling our waste and making it into great products!

Second Place: MeduSoil

The MeduSoil is made by engineers from Switzerland who envision a more engineered and stable soil that will help combat soil erosion and land that is unstable for development.
Their design also incorporates elements of technical innovation, environmental responsibility and economic efficiency with respect to current practice targeting the needs of the foreseen engineering problem.

Third Place: Vienna Textile Lab

Finally, in third place is the Vienna Textile Lab which works to identify bacteria, growing bacteria, extracting colorants and purifying the pigments to use and sell them to textile companies.
