The Conversation published a thought piece concerning what Americans think about climate change. This is such a critical matter we decide to curate it here, with full acknowledgement of source as that’s only right. US acceptance of climate change is mission critical to reversing the phenomenon. That’s because their 4.27% of the global population contributes 25% of the greenhouse gas challenge.
Measuring US Acceptance of Climate Change

Seven out of 10 Americans accept climate is changing. and are worried about it, The Conversation says. Furthermore 6 out of 10 of them agree humans are causing the phenomenon. However many see this as a future threat, although half believe it is harming Americans right now.
As US acceptance of climate change improves, the people are beginning to realize the benefits of a green economy. They understand how this would improve public health, and protect the generations that follow after them. They also agree a green economy would create sustainable jobs and reduce their dependence on overseas oil. However, they generally fail to see the link to starvation and poverty.
How Serious Are Americans About Climate Change?

Unfortunately, concern does not always translate to action. Seven out of 10 Americans see clean energy as a federal priority. A similar number say they would support transitioning their country to completely green energy.
However, it seems they are reluctant to do anything about climate change personally. That’s because just 1 in 10 voters contacted a government official about it during 2019. Furthermore, only 4 out of 10 Americans discuss climate change with family and friends. We expect we would see a similar reticence to take climate action in many other countries too.
For as long as US acceptance of climate change remains at this level, much of the rest of the world will follow them blindly. We begin to understand why our youth, the climate inheritors, are so infuriated with the ruling generation.
