Advanced Lead Acid Batteries On the March

Advanced lead acid batteries follow the same proven formula as those that start combustion engine vehicles and power fork lifts. The ones we sell at UPS Battery Center are similar. However, battery scientists have been beavering away at refinements. As a result, the technology is reaching out into new markets. Let’s find out more.

Growing Markets for Advanced Lead Acid Batteries

The lead acid market is growing steadily. It should expand from $22.7 billion in 2022 to $30.7 billion by 2027 according to Cision PR News Wire. That’s a compound annual growth rate of 6.3% according to contributor Research and Markets.

This growing market includes new innovations in utility, transport, industrial, and commercial and residential sectors, as green energy expands.  Research and Markets believes the utility sector will show the fastest gains.

This is due especially to expansion in developing countries such as India and China. Because this growth knocks on to growing electricity demand increasingly satisfied by wind and solar power. However, a new industry seems poised to have the greatest new market share.

The Motive Sector Will Seize the Greatest Share

The PR News Wire feature confirms the automotive sector will seize the greatest share in the advanced lead asset battery market. A new generation of carbon conscious motorists will appreciate the significantly high discharge and charge rates this technology delivers.

These storage systems comprise strengthened cathode, and anode plates.  Manufacturers achieve this with either amalgamates of lead and antimony in flooded setups, or calcium and lead alloy in a sealed arrangement.

Research and Markets predicts the Asia Pacific region will become one of the largest markets by volume. But this growth will be particularly significant in China, Japan, South Korea, and India which held the collective lead during 2021. However, it’s entirely possible renewable energy could drive the market even higher in the future.
