The word ‘synergy’ refers to the positive outcome of two factors combining forces, so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual potential. We came across an article in EV Magazine that reminded us of the developing synergy between batteries and artificial intelligence. So we skimmed through it on the basis there is always something new to learn, and report on here.

Do Artificial Intelligence and Batteries Define China’s Strategy?

StoreDot, who wrote the parent article, believes that batteries and artificial intelligence are at the heart of China’s strategic focus. That’s quite a statement, although they justify it on the basis that the intersection of these two factors forms a powerful synergy.

This synergy, they continue, positions China as a dominant force in the global technology race. It already has a firm grip on the global battery supply chain. This enables China to take a lead in battery raw material processing, manufacturing and cell production.

At the same time, China has also invested heavily in artificial intelligence, through research, development and talent acquisition. As things stand now, we could say that China is a key player in both of these two factors as follows:

  • Artificial intelligence’s strength lies in its ability to process vast amounts of data quickly. Battery-powered internet-of-things devices are expanding this scope.
  • Batteries are thus part of an integrated system, contributing to smart data grids. These are powered by Chinese batteries, and managed by Chinese artificial intelligence.

Our Future With Batteries and Artificial Intelligence Synergy

Those thoughts could hardly have existed, when we began writing our blog a dozen years ago. In fact, it’s quite amazing how our world of batteries has expanded. We feel honored to play a small part in this technology revolution, as we share key news that we encounter along the way.
