Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, aka CDC, knows a COVID vaccination is only the end of the beginning. Not the beginning of the end in the fight against the virus that is challenging us unlike any before. It asks Americans to download CDC’s after-vaccination health checker on their phones. So the agency can stay in touch and keep us up to date.
How CDC’s After-Vaccination Health Checker Works
The after vaccine checker is not hard science. In fact, it’s gentle guidance to help us travel down a road we did not expect, and may still deny. The V-Safe app, as the government informally calls it uses text messaging, and surveys to deliver personal health checks as soon as you have the vaccination.
You can also write back to CDC’s after-vaccination health checker on your phone. If you tell the app you have side effects, a real person from the agency may call you back for more information about your status. It goes without saying if you need a second vaccine dose, the app will remind you when your appointment is due.
All the Information You Need Conveniently In One Place
Your health care provider will hand you a V-Safe guide after you receive the vaccine. This will tell you how to register and use the app.
1… Follow the website link on the instruction guide and read the information on your screen.
2… Click ‘get started’. Enter your name, mobile number, and other requested information.
3… Click ‘register’, receive a text message with a verification code, and enter this on the app.
3… Click ‘verify’, select the COVID vaccine on your vaccine record card from the app list.
4… Review your registration information, click ‘submit’ to confirm, or ‘go back’ to edit.
You’re done and dusted with your V-Safe registration. You’ll receive your health check after 2 p.m. that day, or right away if you registered after that deadline.
