We hope most North Americans welcome the COVID-19 vaccine with their open arms. That’s because it should help them avoid the infection, and equally importantly prevent them infecting others. The event is growing closer. We decided it’s time to find out what to expect at our vaccine appointments. As usual, Centers for Disease Control had it laid out and waiting on their website.
What to Expect at Our Vaccine Appointments: Some Research
Misunderstandings can creep in to fill a gap in our knowledge. Follow the link below to update your understanding of the various vaccines. We’ll be back with more information tomorrow in the next post. However, perhaps your most important take-away will be continuing taking precautions after you receive the vaccine.
Prepare for your appointment to get the vaccine by sanitizing, maintaining distance and putting on a clean face mask. That’s because you don’t want to trip at the last hurdle, and become part of a spread. However, what to expect at our vaccine appointments themselves is a simple as having an influenza jab.
What Happens After You Have Had Your COVID Jab
The person administering the vaccine should hand you a vaccination card, or printout. This will record which COVID-19 vaccine you received, the date you received it, and where you had it done.
Most likely you will have to return for a second jab later. You may experience side-effects, but you must have the second one to complete the treatment. It’s that important.
Centers for Disease Control recommend downloading their V-safe After Vaccination Health Checker, soon as you receive the first, or only jab. This will keep you up to date with relevant information, including how long it takes to strengthen your immune system.
