The Critical Facts About the Coronavirus

Covid-19 is changing our lives, perhaps for a long time and this is making us uncertain. Most of us have adjusted to strict guidelines, although rumors continue to disrupt our thoughts as infections remain high. Yale Medicine published their critical facts about the coronavirus on April 28, 2020, and we unpack them here.

The First Two Critical Facts About the Coronavirus

Firstly, the facts of the situation are changing rapidly. Our two major concerns are we are unsure what causes an infected person to transmit the virus, and which body fluids play a part.

Secondly, the exact nature of the disease’s pathogenesis is still partly a mystery. We don’t fully understand how it develops, and the nature of the inflammatory response. Fresh information is pouring in from research. Until we know the critical facts about the coronavirus transmission, we should continue with strict countermeasures to slow it down

The Other Three Very Important Facts to Remember

The third very important factor is humans are largely in control of the disease spread. We must bring our side as individuals with regular hand washing, staying at home whenever we can, disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, and keeping our distances.

Fourthly, we can take comfort from the fact the very best scientists in the world are working very hard to close the gaps in the critical facts about the coronavirus. And develop more efficient home testing kits to identify outbreaks, and nail them down fast.  However, there is one fifth, final factor and again this is in our hands. We must support our healthcare workers and hospital staff by reporting our status the moment we start showing symptoms.

That way, they can diagnose our condition early, and isolate us so it can’t continue to spread. There’s a good chance we can recover quickly with fast medical attention. And that frees up a hospital bed for someone in greater need, perhaps.

This was after I escaped the corporate world and searched in vain for ways to become rich on the internet by doing nothing. Despite the fact that writing is no recipe for wealth, I rather enjoy it. I will not deny I am obsessed with it when I have the time. I live in Margate on the Kwazulu-Natal south coast of South Africa. I work from home where I ponder on the future of the planet, and what lies beyond in the great hereafter. Sometimes I step out of my computer into the silent riverine forests, and empty golden beaches for which the area is renowned. Richard
