If you feel sick, stay at home, do not go to work, call your medical provider Whitehouse.Gov advises. If your kids are sick, keep them at home too, do not send them to school, and call your medical provider it adds. Moreover, if someone at home tests positive, keep the entire household at home. Do not go to work, call your medical provider.

The U.S. President’s 15 days to slow the spread of the virus continue by telling older people to stay at home. Keep away from other people it says. Finally, it addresses people with underlying medical conditions. Stay at home and away from other people if you are at risk, it concludes.

There is However No Mention of Proactive Sheltering

The advice from Whitehouse.Gov focuses on taking precautions to prevent on-boarding the Covid virus. It recommends working from home, and home schooling where possible. However, people in critical infrastructure industries have a special responsibility to maintain normal work schedules.

As far as the rest of us are concerned, we should avoid social gatherings of more than ten people, and stay away from bars, restaurants, and food courts. The guidelines further recommend avoiding discretionary travel, or visiting retirement homes and long term care facilities unless providing critical assistance.

The U.S. President’s 15 days to slow the spread of the Covid-19 conclude with personal hygiene tips we know well.  This advice does not include mandatory sheltering. However, it is the direction the world is moving.

I tripped over a shrinking bank balance and fell into the writing gig unintentionally. This was after I escaped the corporate world and searched in vain for ways to become rich on the internet by doing nothing. Despite the fact that writing is no recipe for wealth, I rather enjoy it. I will not deny I am obsessed with it when I have the time. I live in Margate on the Kwazulu-Natal south coast of South Africa. I work from home where I ponder on the future of the planet, and what lies beyond in the great hereafter. Sometimes I step out of my computer into the silent riverine forests, and empty golden beaches for which the area is renowned. Richard
