Fanny Moritz, the founder of the Eco-friendly e-commerce platform, NO!W No Waste, is leading green initiatives in Hong Kong to promote the zero-waste lifestyle!

What is NO!W No waste?

The NO!W No Waste business was founded at the end of 2015. The decision to create the website and business was made after Hong Kong-based founder, Fanny Moritz, read “Zero Waste Home” by Bea Johnson. Moritz says: “this was a turning point: I realised it was high time for me to embrace a more responsible lifestyle by considerably reducing my waste.”

After researching and not quite finding a good platform for what she needed to start her zero waste journey, she decided to put her 15 years of experience in designing websites to use. That was when the NO!W No Waste was created to provide the best alternatives to plastics and disposables material.

“Zero Waste is Sexy”

The Zero Waste lifestyle isn’t usually seen as an appealing lifestyle for everyone. That is why Moritz decided to make a campaign that portrays the lifestyle as sexy by using Hong Kong-based male models to promote it. You can check out the promotion video above and the pictures from the campaign on her instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nowaste.now/

Essentially, the images contain attractive young men using different Eco-friendly products in various settings. Some might think the images are sexist but according to Moritz, they are meant to leave customers with a positive outlook as they associate the lifestyle with these happy, attractive images.

What IS Zero Waste:

The zero waste lifestyle, if you’re unfamiliar with it, is a lifestyle where you strive to produce as little waste as possible. It says “zero” but really, it is just about trying your best to not produce unnecessary waste. Almost of all our plastic products can be replaced with reusable items that might take a little bit of getting used to, but are ultimately better for the environment.
